System Support

System support consists of the management and maintenance of server storage including the disks, the file systems and all logical volumes as they are used on directly attached storage (DAS). SAN storage availability and End User Management may have different service options as outlined in respective services. Disk, file, and share management includes the activities that relate to:

• Logical and physical disk management - Provides for the management of physical disks as well as the configuration and management of logical volumes or partitions contained on these physical devices.


• Quota and threshold management - Quota and threshold management refers to the process of managing disk space utilization at the user and group level.


• Share management - Share management includes the activities that create, delete, alter, and maintain storage volumes in a system.
